And 3 reasons against them

Newly single, a couple of years ago I embarked on 50 first dates. Unlike the movie, mine were with different people. My date of choice — the coffee date. Here are 5 reasons I like them, with 3 caveats…

1. A coffee date is inexpensive

With dating apps and social media, single people have tons of options. It’s easy to find 50 eligible people online. Once you find them, you’ll want to meet them, unless your goal was virtual flirtation. That means a first date.

Set aside the question of who pays. Assume you go dutch. It will still cost you.

50 cups of coffee are much more affordable than 50 nice meals.

In fact, a coffee date is one of your least expensive options unless you live in Germany, where beer is cheaper than water. Of course, a walk in the park is free, but not always feasible.

Coffee is the solution to dating on a budget. Just think, for the price of a cup of coffee… you could meet the love of your life.

2. A coffee date is quick (when you want it to be)

How do you efficiently meet and screen 50 possible matches?
