7-Layer Dip and Chocolate
I broke my diet after chemotherapy but you’re still going to hear me ROAR!
I can be a well-disciplined person. But I am not always. When I cheat — I really cheat. And I really shouldn’t, not while I am fighting cancer.
It’s a cancer that was supposed to have me dead 18 months ago. On the one hand — I’ve beaten the odds. On the other hand — it hasn’t gone away and has spread to my bones.
So one would think I would be even more hard core?
And to some degree — I am. I still take mega-doses of fish oil every day, particularly DHA. I also take other supplements that are supposed to help. And I fast right before chemo and right after.
Apparently, if you do chemo, this helps it to be more effective against the bad cells while helping the good cells survive better.
So I should be hard core about this, right?
Normally I am.
But sometimes… yesterday I had chemo. I fasted the day before and I was planning to fast until the morning after.
But I didn’t.
I broke down and had 7-layer dip with tortilla chips for a late lunch and followed it up with a cup of my favorite tea and two dark chocolate truffles.
