A lot of times the woman tries to talk to the man but he refuses to listen, doesn't provide emotional support, etc. It's a common trope - he's focused on his video game/sports channel/work stuff and ignores her when she tries to talk. Some of this is on her - if he's got a work deadline or it's the Super Bowl, then don't interrupt. But what if the guy is NEVER available? This happens with a lot of couples.

When I was dating, I was amazed at the number of men who appreciate a woman who listens to them and empathizes but when she needs that, he's unavailable. After this kind of thing happened to me a couple of times, I learned to avoid these men who are big emotional drains.
