actually, according to statistics I've seen, the murder rate is higher in many countries, including Scandinavia, than it is in teh US. On a list of countries, we only ranked 68th. I can try to track this down if you are interested, I read it a few weeks back.

But there are mass shootings in other countries, but the US news media is so American-centric, they don't report it or if they do it's just a short segment. One reason I don't watch American news anymore.
