Actually, I am dealing with lymphedema and have found that diet DOES help ME. That doesn't mean it would help Shannon; as I stated in my original post, I would not presume to tell Shannon what to do. I appreciate her candor re. her struggles and only wish the best for her.

However, that doesn't mean that my own experiences are invalid. In my particular case, lifestyle changes I made after my initial diagnosis of cancer helped me. Would they help everyone? No, of course not. We are not all the same.

To me, that is the real issue - the assumption that because something works for one person it will work for everyone. Human beings are complex. Maybe diet and exercise changes don't work for YOU - however, they helped ME to survive a type IV cancer when doctors told me I'd be dead in a few months.

I assume that Shannon understands her body, just as I understand my own, and would not push MY solutions onto her.
