actually, the guy was NOT being Biblical, that is the problem and the reason many Christians called him out. (BTW, totally love that you mention Shiva, etc.)

The Bible talks about MUTUAL submission - as well as love. The man is supposed to care for his wife the way Christ cared for the church. This cannot, in any way, justify rape, since Christ SERVED others, He never violated them.

Also, the Song of Solomon is part of the Bible, and it shows that women as well as men take pleasure in sex. So then, why do so many Christian women see sex as nothing but a duty they owe to their husbands? It's really a corruption of the ideal partnership that is referred to in not just the Bible, but in Hinduism, etc.

Bottom line, anyone who thinks women are the slaves of men needs to just shut up and go away.
