Blood Pressure Too Low Today
Thankfully I was in the hospital when I nearly fainted
For some reason today my blood pressure was way too low. It shouldn’t have been. I was getting immunotherapy today so I made sure to have a small breakfast and a good-sized, healthy lunch before a friend picked me up to take me for my treatment.
I also took some electrolytes since I have had issues with low blood pressure in the last few months.
Despite all this, when they measured my blood pressure at the hospital, it was low enough to get them worried.
They drew a few vials of blood to run tests prior to them taking my weight, O2 stats, temperature, heart rate, and blood pressure. My blood pressure was 81/61.
I could tell there was an issue even before they took that measurement because I almost fainted while walking into the treatment area. Fortunately, my friend supported me as I slowly made my way to a seat. She got me some water and a hot chocolate, which helped a little.
The nurses decided that in addition to my Keytruda, I’d get an IV filled with saline to rehydrate me.
After two hours, my blood pressure had only gone up to 89/65. But I did feel better and was able to walk without support.
