British culture is reserved. British royal culture even more so. Much of the loneliness Meghan may have experienced could have been due to a culture clash, not overt racism. Other Americans, such as Grace Kelly, who married into royalty, had difficulties adjusting. This is not due to racism.

For example, anyone, including family, that comes into the presence of the Queen is expected to bow or curtsy. That is not something expected of blacks but not others - it is expected of everyone. The culture is formal and traditional. It probably seemed cold to someone used to Hollywood.

But I take what Meghan says with a grain of salt simply because of the way she has treated her own family. We can track down interviews with old friends of Meghan's, many of them people of color, who give us insight that does not reflect well on the Duchess.

Meanwhile, there are people of color and others who are struggling to feed their families, who have lost businesses and jobs and homes, whose children are more likely to be hurt by the lockdowns than the children of wealthier families... there are also people in places like Yemen who are at risk of starvation and people in concentration camps in China (the Muslim Uighars for example). I care a lot more about their situation than the perceived slights against someone who is in the top .01% when it comes to wealth...
