Chinese Americans typically give their kids both a Chinese and American name. Indians typically don't. If I'd had a child with my ex, I would have pushed for giving the kid an American first name and an Indian middle name. Then let the kid decide which one he wanted to go by, when he got old enough to have an opinion.
