Could Bernie win the nomination?

More and more I think he might

Are you ready for tonight’s debate? I’m not sure who is tuning in. I watched the first two debates but missed the last one and I’m going out to look at Christmas lights tonight. I may see if I can record it and watch it later, though.

I haven’t been impressed by the debates so far. As I’ve noted in other articles, I think the Democrat Party has missed a chance to discuss some of their really innovative ideas.

Which brings me to Senator Bernie Sanders. He’s passionate, quirky and full of interesting ideas. I’m not always sure he’s sane. But I’m thinking he could win the Democratic nomination in 2020.

First off, I think he’s got a shot at winning both Iowa and New Hampshire. After all, he came close to winning in Iowa back in 2016. Now it looks like Mayor Pete is in the lead.

I apologize to all my friends who love the good Mayor, but I don’t find him impressive. I mean, South Bend has a population of about 300,000 people. That’s what, less than .1% the size of the United States as a whole. And it’s not like he’s accomplished that much during his tenure. Yes, he’s a bright guy — Harvard and Oxford. And he served in Afghanistan. Still, I personally would rather have someone with more executive experience.
