Dare To Be Creative

You were created in the image of a creative God

When I was 5 years old, I saw my father biting his nails. I had never done this but I wanted to be like my father, so I imitated him. Now, this is not a good habit, so maybe it would have been better if I had not! However, there were also many good habits I learned from both of my parents.

When we accept the Lord God as our heavenly Father, shouldn’t we also try to imitate Him? In fact, He asks us to do so.

In Ephesians 5:1 He tells us:

Be imitators of God, as beloved children.

What traits do we associate with God? Some of them, such as omnipotence and omniscience, there is no way we could imitate.

However, there are others that we can try to copy. Often in sermons, we hear about loving others as God loved us. 1 John 4:8 tell us:

Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.

Forgiveness is also emphasized. It’s in the Lord’s Prayer, after all. 1 John 1:9 says:

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
