Dogs and babies should always be supervised. With some breeds, you have to be extra careful. Bowser was such a breed.

These people should not be allowed to own any pets in future. They are clueless and the poor animal will suffer.

Thank God the child was not injured, but if he is not taught to not abuse animals (and pulling their sensitive ears IS abuse) then next time he does it, he be injured. And the fault will be on the parents for not teaching him better, not on the poor dog or cat for defending itself.
