Donald Trump thinks you miss him. Woody Allen reminds me of the old New Yorker map — everything is centered on him; the women he marries, the children he’s helped raise are all peripheral. Meghan Markle used the British royals as a stepping stone, or tried to.
How does society treat these three?
It’s true that Trump gets his share of invective. But will it ever hurt him? He’s no longer President, but there are still plenty of people who will vouch for him even if he murders several people on 5th Avenue. At least he has the self-awareness to know this, if not an awareness, or, perhaps an empathy for the lives he’s destroyed.
Woody Allen? He’s called a great man. Yet… is he really as creative as everyone claims he is? Is he truly a great man? He highlights female angst in his movies, portrays talented, multifaceted, sexy women such as Diane Keaton as mere extensions of his ego and blew apart the lives of his children by crossing of emotional if not biological taboos.
In contrast, Meghan Markle may or may not have played some petty games. If she is, indeed, a narcissist, she may be tearing apart Prince Harry’s life. But… look how much…
