Even if you don’t like their ideology, lifestyle choices, gender, or skin color
One thing I hate is the way people are defining their enemies as being less than human.
Guess what, it doesn’t matter if you hate someone else’s beliefs, lifestyle, or their skin color or gender — they are still human beings.
Recently 41 year old Shannon Brandt struck 18 year old Cayler Ellingson with his car, killing the teen-ager. The driver told investigators he hit the teen with his SUV after a political argument.
Was Brandt a right-wing fanatic?
No, turns out that Ellingson was the Republican. Brandt claimed he was part of a right-wing extremist group. He also admitted to drinking alcohol before he hit Ellingson and left the scene of the crime. When cops nabbed him, his breathalyzer showed he was above the legal limit.
According to court documents, the teen called his mother before he was hit. She told him she was on her way to pick him up. Ellingson called again a little later because Brandt was chasing him.
Yet Brandt was released on just $50,000 in bail.
