Don’t Lose Your Temper With Your Pets
Or your children
Yesterday my dog, Snowy, scraped me with one of his nails.
We had a nice walk together. Because I’ve been having chemotherapy, a friend of mine has been caring for my dog, but I see him when I can. Sometimes I have the energy to have him spend the night. Sometimes I can only see him for 20 minutes. It’s been very frustrating because I would love to have him with me full time.
I am hoping that now that my treatment is completed, I can gradually get my dog back with me full time.
In the interim… yesterday we had a walk with my friend and his dog.
We had a great time.
At the end, I had Snowy come to me, sit, and shake my hand.
He was so eager and delighted to do this.
But when he raised his paw to shake, his nail cut the skin on my arm.
Since I started chemo, my skin has been more fragile than usual. All of me is more fragile than usual. My friend wore a mask during our walk because my blood counts are low and he doesn’t want me to get sick. But I need to see my dog.
I am very grateful to my friend for being willing to drive up with Snowy and his dog and go for a walk with us. It meant a lot to me.
