Ever since I lived in Colorado, I've been keeping about 2 weeks of necessities on hand in case of an issue. It's not hard, because you only stock what you'll use anyway, and then just rotate stuff out. So you use up your old can of beans and buy a new one next time you make chili... but I make sure I have stuff that doesn't need to be cooked, like trail mix and jerky. Just in case I can't cook! And while bottled water is fine, you can just fill up a sterilized container with water from your tap if you want to be frugal. Or get the smart water if you don't. and I wouldn't forget the liquor and the chocolate (or whatever treat you like) because you might as well have a couple of things on hand that keep you happy... LOL
