Fasting Cured My Knee Pain
A welcome and unexpected surprise
A few weeks ago, I walked my dog and ended up with knee pain.
I have metastatic brain, lung, and liver cancer. I was diagnosed in April of 2021. Because of my medical limits, I have had to ask a friend to care for my dog, but I was having him stay over one night a week, when I had a good day. Some weeks I couldn’t do it and I felt very sad. I missed my dog.
So when I was able to have him, spending time with him was very important.
I’d take him to an enclosed tennis court at a local park and lob tennis balls for him to chase. We’d have a great time and then we’d walk for half an hour or so.
Then I’d bring him home, hose him off (because he will get into water when he can and he is a mud magnet), and we’d both have breakfast about 30 minutes later.
Note: it’s a good idea not to feed your dog immediately after exercise, particularly large, active dogs. Also don’t feed just before exercise.
Anyway, unfortunately, I have become more fragile thanks to the cancer. I am unsteady on my feet now and have to use a rollater when I walk my dog. I use a cane at other times. I also have all sorts of weird issues I never had before.
