Fasting to Fight Cancer

I experimented on myself and it seems to be working

At one point in the last few years I read a book by Dr. Jason Fung on how his diabetic patients who fasted were able to stop taking insulin shots. I was intrigued because my Mom has diabetes.

However, when I shared the research with her — she refused to consider fasting. The most she’d be willing to do was to cut down on snacking after dinner.

Well, it’s her body and her choice.

However, I figured, given the family history of diabetes, to try intermittent fasting. In addition to bringing my blood sugar down, this also helped me lose weight. I used to be quite overweight, and now I am a healthy weight.

However, I also have cancer.

It metastasized from the breast cancer I’d originally had back in 2004.

In April of 2021 I was diagnosed with metastatic brain, lung, and liver cancer. I was expected to live about 6 months, with the last months in hospice care.

However, I am, obviously, still alive.

One reason for that, I believe, is that I am willing to experiment on myself.

I do a lot of my own research, and bring journal articles to my oncologists to back up my position when I refuse certain…
