Feeding Stray Dogs

There are still good people in the world

It’s heart breaking to see stray dogs and cats. While I normally think of the third world when I think of stray animals, there are some in this country, too. I used to feed stray cats, and I’ve supported capture/spay or neuter/release programs. I’ve called owners when the animal (dog or cat) has tags.

The other day, I checked out twitter, and I came across this:

Someone installed food and water dispensers for stray dogs.

I would not be surprised if the person who did this was either autistic and/or introverted. I would also not be surprised if it was a man who did this. These often unappreciated types often care deeply but don’t always know how to show it.

What better way to show love than to provide nutrition? Yes, ideally, the stray dogs might be adopted into loving homes. But at least now they won’t starve while they wait for that miracle.

At any rate, whoever the kind person was — I am grateful that he or she has made a difference in the lives of stray dogs.

If you would like to buy me a cup of coffee, I would appreciate it. Maybe I can return the favor sometime. Because we all need appreciation.
