Forced To Drink Ensure?

How to make it palatable

I’ve had to make some strange dietary changes to help my body deal with cancer treatments and then continue healing.

Some of these changes have been fine or even pleasurable.

For example — my cardiologist told me to eat potato chips. Because my blood pressure is too low, he wants me to increase my salt consumption. He also thinks it wouldn’t hurt for me to have more calories, so… he prescribed a handful of chips for a snack!

That’s been an easy prescription to fill!

Another easy recommendation for me to follow — adding spices and herbs to my meals, which is something I would do anyway. But garlic, turmeric, oregano, and many other herbs and spices have health benefits as well as adding flavor to food.

I also did some research and eating seafood, cruciferous vegetables and citrus fruit all help your body fight cancer. DHA in particular is an anti-cancer powerhouse, so in addition to eating fish more often, I also supplement with DHA and EPA.

Then there are things I don’t really like but which I force myself to do because my medical team has advised it.

Ensure falls into this category.
