Green Goblin Gang Attacks Teens on Subway

I used to regularly ride the subway but not sure I’d be up for it any more

I grew up in New York City, and from the ages of 14 to 16, I travelled on the subway from my home in Queens to my high school in Manhattan. I did see a few incidents, but for the most part I felt safe.

There were certain stops and routes I knew to avoid. The rest were not an issue, particularly since I wasn’t traveling alone at night.

However, New York City seems to be getting less safe and the crimes seem to be getting more bizarre.

There was the incident on September 20th, when 41-year-old Waheed Foster attacked a woman he chased off the train. The woman, Elizabeth Gomes, nearly lost an eye.

More recently, according to an article I read in The Huffington Post, a group of women being dubbed the “Green Goblin Gang” attacked two 19-year-old women on a New York City subway train on Sunday, October 2nd.

Police told the New York Post that the attackers took a cellphone and handbag.
