He Called Me A Bitch

I realize he was sorta right, and now I’m sorta proud of it

When I was in high school, I was asked by one of the boys in one of my classes if he could cheat off me on our next exam. He was really cute and because of that, he probably expected me to say yes.

I said no.

Without any pause, he said, “You bitch!” loud enough for several other students to hear.

It stunned me.

But… while I felt bad about being called what I considered a bad word and an insult at the time, I didn’t back down. Backing down does not come natural to a bitch. However, when I was a young woman, I hated being called a bitch.

Since then, though, I’ve learned to embrace my inner bitch. And here are some of the reasons why:

  • People often say a woman is a bitch if she is honest. This is a favorite tactic of narcissists of all genders. How can they gaslight you if you insist on being truthful? Obviously you are a bitch for doing that to them.
  • Some men say a woman is a bitch if she refuses to have sex with them. Newsflash: No one owes you sex. No, not even if you buy her dinner.
  • Managers call women bitchy for not accepting lower pay, or wanting credit for the work she’s done, or calling them out on…
