Is the price worth the convenience?

I recently wrote an article about cooking on a budget and I got some feedback from someone who regularly gets her food delivered from McDonald’s. Apparently, she doesn’t have the time to cook her own food, and also claims it’s a cheap option for her.

As I point out in this article, there is no way having McDonald’s delivered is cheaper than cooking:

Note, I am not trying to pick on McDonald’s per se, but using it as an example of why it is best to avoid fast food as a daily option. If you occasionally indulge to save time or because you really crave their fries — that is a different story. We all need to do that sometimes.

However, if McDonald’s is the source of your daily nutrition, you need to be aware that there are some health risks:

  • Higher risk of diabetes: The buns, fries, and sodas in your McDonald’s meal will spike your blood sugar levels. Your body will release insulin to deal with this, which can eventually lead to type 2 diabetes
