Re. the end of the article that threw you off - I think this is based on how I dated in general. I always assumed the first couple of dates were just to get to know someone and figure out if there was a spark - and, at least with me, sparks were rare. So, 90% of the time, after a first or second date, I'd let the guy know I wasn't feeling it. I'm not into leading anyone on. However, it genuinely takes me time to figure out if there is an attraction.

The whole attraction thing - I agree with you. What I find super attractive may not appeal to you and vice versa.
