Hmmm… I think I know what you are saying.
My possible beef is that I think most of the stereotypes (if not all) are not due to race but to culture. As an example, we look at two groups that are racially the same but in very different cultures — East and West Germans before the fall of the wall, for example, or North and South Koreans. Or Arab Christians vs. Arab Muslims.
So if I have a black friend who grew up in Germany, I know to show up at their house ON TIME for a party, but my black friend who grew up in Indonesia — I know to be an hour late! :-)
