Here is the thing, I went to MIT, and I have friends from Cornell, Duke, Stanford, Carnegie Mellon, Princeton, Yale, etc. Some are doctors, some lawyers, some engineers. We sometimes debate, and I sometimes win and I sometimes lose. I always enjoy it because I always learn something even if I lose.
But I respect them because they can back up what they say with facts and they don't need to insult people. Since you can't respond without insults I have no respect for you.
