I agree, and my ex and I never had an issue with keeping private photos of our ex's. They were never on display in common spaces and we respected each others' privacy.

However, if your partner had some trauma that creates some trust issues, then having an honest discusson and trying to find a compromise that helps calm them down while still allowing you some boundaries - it's worth at least having an honest discusson about. JMHO
