I love your articles, and I agree with you! Why do we need “amenities”?? I also find the ubiquitous warning signs somewhat laughable. Yes, we can all see that the Grand Canyon is a BIG step down… ;)

BTW, one thing I love in my current area — there are a few parks that are large enough you can get lost if you are not careful, and they allow dogs off leash. they are more like wilderness, too, with nothing but nature once you get on the trails. :-) I love hiking there with my dogs, at least I will again once I am completely recovered from the cancer.
