I agree with you, and thank God for whistleblowers. They are truly courageous, because they are fighting big money. There is a Rush song called Big Money....
re. farms - something similar happened here in the US, where large corporate "farms" were upset at people filming abuse of animals. Whatever happened to the rights of the consumer to know about the stuff they buy?
I refuse to buy factory farm products. I only buy pastured meats and eggs and avoid dairy altogether because what they do to calves is awful. I used to be able to get my milk, cream, cheese, etc., from a local organic farm where the calves were allowed to stay with their mums until weaned. The cows were pastured and well treated. Unfortunately, the farmer eventually got tired of the work involved and sold her operation.
The thing is - if we condone cruelty in one form, it's a slippery slope to condoning it elsewhere.
