I am Asian, and I've noticed that yes, people treat me (and also white people) differently based on how we dress. I have white friends who wear suits when they travel for this reason. BUT... when you're black, it goes to a whole new level. This is ABSOLUTELY true.

Like, if I dress shabbily one day - sure, I won't be treated as well as I would if I were properly put together. But I am not worried I'll be stopped by the cops. Black people deal with a level of discrimination the rest of us can only imagine.

Thanks for sharing so that we can try to understand better.
