Seriously, the electoral college was built solely to oppress minorities? Really? Have you ever read a history book? There were reasons the Founders put in place the electoral college and oppressing minorities had nothing to do with it. Try reading The Federalist Papers and you'll learn why Hamilton, Madison, etc., favored the electoral college. Hint: It had nothing to do with minorities and everything to do with the United States being a Republic.

BTW, the first person to get shot in the Revolutionary War was a free black man - Crispus Attics. Free African Americans fought in the American Revolution. They made up about 4% of the troops.
