I am not sure any of this would help you but on the off chance it will...

One of my friends broke her foot recently and has had a hard time getting in and out of her tub. I have a walk-in shower stall. So she comes over to take showers. Do you have a friend who would let you do this? Or can you move to an apartment that does? (I know, moving when you are in agony and overwhelmed... but maybe long term it would be something to consider.)

The thing is, at an early age you are encountering some of the problems associated with aging that elderly people deal with. I have experienced some of this due to cancer. My body acts like an older person's. It sucks but my older friends often give me good advice.

Like, when I hurt my knee and it was in pain - they told me about Lidocain topical anesthetic. My palliative care nurse told me to use ice packs.

Your pain sounds a lot worse than mine, but maybe some of this stuff would help? I don't know but I hope it does.

Another thing that helps me is physical therapy which you are doing but which can be expensive. However, there are things you can do on your own - I've used YouTube videos to help me do stretches and exercises, for example. So I only do PT with my therapist once a week, which my insurance will cover, and then do it on my own in between.

Again, the problem is if you are in so much pain you can't use your knee at all, then it makes it harder to do exercises that would, in the long run, maybe help, but short term they are impossible! However, there might be other solutions.

For example, the first time I had cancer and went through chemo I had a hard time moving but knew I needed to get my lymph moving. So I sat on a mini-trampoline while my husband made it vibrate. Would there be ways friends or your daughter could help you safely "exercise"?

Just whatever you do, please don't give up.
