I consider myself a feminist. To me this means I think women are adults. That means we should have the same rights but also the same responsibilities as men. Feminism should be about creating a fair world for everyone, not about having power over men. So, yeah, I agree with you.
Unfortunately my stating this can trigger some women who say they are feminists. I unfortunately had to block someone today. I had mentioned to her that while I think women in America do face obstacles, from a purely objective POV, we have it a lot better than we did 100 years ago and certainly better than women in, say, Egypt, where 97% of them have their clits cut off. Being very attached to my clit, I found this stat horrifying.
The woman I was conversing with disagreed with my position, which is fine - she thinks American women are uniquely oppressed. But instead of making her case by citing facts, which I would have been open to, she became rude, vulgar and incoherent. To be fair, many men do the same thing. So I suppose in that sense, women have achieved equality - they can be just as unpleasant as men!
