I don't really get the attitude of moving to a new place and wanting to change it.
It's no different than friends of mine who have moved to the US from Singapore or Taiwan and kept griping about how they wished it was more like their homeland. Well, you moved here for a reason...
I've lived in other countries and states and each time, I try to get along with the locals, learn about their customs, not change them. I like living in a diverse world, I don't want everything to be homogenous.
BTW, people can also move in the other direction. It's a free country, and honestly, with COVID going on, a lot of people may very well move to New York or California simply because they will feel safer!
