I enjoyed your article though I am bullish on crypto. The thing is, no one knows the future. The fact that El Salvador recently adopted Bitcoin makes me think it may have staying power. But a lot of people think it's a scam. Well, once upon a time, gold and silver coins were the accepted currency, not fiat dollars. Yet now, who uses gold and silver? We all use fiat, though more and more we do it in electronic form. Maybe crypto will replace fiat just as fiat replaced bullion. Who knows? maybe we'll go back to barter... But you made some good points and anyone who wants to look at cryptocurrency objectively needs to look at both sides.

BTW, one reason I am bullish on cryptocurrency has nothing to do with the currency part. It's the use case. many blockchains provide a means for transferring wealth between countries, for example, or playing online games or storing files in the cloud. To the extent that a coin provides access to useful functionality, it will have an intrinsic value that provides a floor of support. JMHO
