I find this appalling.

I desperately miss my late dog, Annie. She was pure love and I adopted her as an older dog, so having the chance to clone her would also give me a chance to know her as a puppy.

So, would I be tempted? Yes.

But.. not if it means surrogate mothers live a hellish life. I speak out against puppy mills and don’t support cruelty to animals. How could I pay for a clone if it meant the poor mother dog lived in misery, as nothing but a tool, a body with a womb for use? Plus the thought of the “discarded” dogs — so close to my dear Annie, but not good enough, so they get killed.

If I had the money to clone Annie, I would use the money to save many others. Ultimately, given how purely loving and generous she was, saving many lives would be more in keeping with her essence, her spirit, her soul…
