I found your article interesting. I am not white (I'm Asian) and talking to my black friends - they often experience racism in weird ways that I never have. So even those of us who are not white can experience "white privilege" to some degree, in that we don't experience the level of racism that blacks do.

One area I disagree with you though is names...

My black friends include people whose names are Dwight, Sheila, Erika, Willie, Craig, Bobby, Andrea, Milo, Alberta, Joan, Lewis, Grace, Alexandra, Vicki and Michael. My own name (thanks to my immigrant parents) is considered exotic in America. I have Chinese friends who have a Chinese name and an American name. I also have white friends with some really interesting names. So... not sure about the name thing unless the black person's parents are from Africa and they want to give him or her a name that is traditional to that culture.
