Having a birthday celebration with friends

For anyone who has been following my articles, you know I was diagnosed with metastatic brain, lung, and liver cancer back in April of 2021. I was given 6 months to live but so far I’ve made it 20.

I’m really happy that I’m still around but a lot of times I am just really weak.

My body has become fragile. I think it’s partly due to the chemotherapy and radiation treatments. Recently, I have switched to only having immunotherapy once every 3 weeks. This is easier on my body.

Nevertheless, on my birthday, I had balance issues. I was having a hard time walking without falling down.

So my friends helped me.

One lady carried my purse while another gave me an arm to hold on to. I also had my cane.

Thanks to their help, I was able to have a wonderful birthday celebration.

My friends treated me to a meal at an Austin restaurant with a wide variety of healthy options. The restaurant also had scrumptious drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic.

The drink I had was called a Fiery Lion and it’s a potent combination of Plymouth Gin, Grand Marnier, orange juice, and house-made grenadine syrup.
