I hope they never adopt another pet.

A pet is a lifetime commitment - for the life of the pet. And no, you don't euthanize a young dog!!!!

I had an cat that lived to be 21 years old and when she had renal failure we didn't put her down, we got her sub-Q fluids for a few months. There came a point, though, where we did need to let her go.

It's a really tough call and heart rending. To make that decision though when you have a resilient young animal that could respond well to treatment? WTF? These people make my blood boil.
