I know you hate Republicans, and I appreciate you posting a link.

However...

Re. the baby formula crisis - a whistleblower let the FDA know back in October of 2021 about the problem. This was over 6 months ago. I wrote a Medium article about it. Why was nothing done by the Biden Administration to address the crisis in that timeframe? It doesn't matter who is President when we have a crisis - "the buck stops here".

The House voted 414-9 to pass H.R. 7791, a measure that would allow low-income women to purchase more baby formula through the federal Women, Infant and Children (WIC) program. So plenty of Republicans voted for THAT bill.

The one they did NOT vote for - H.R. 7790, the Infant Formula Supplemental Appropriations Act of 2022. Why did Republicans vote agaisnt this bill?

If provided more money to the FDA. The minority whip felt that this would reward the FDA for not being on top of things and it would not address the problems that led to the crisis. Other GOP members have expressed concern about language in the bill that would prevent the importation of baby formula from places in Europe . The European Union also has high standards for baby food, so why should we NOT import food from our allies?

So if you actually read WHY there were objections to the 2nd bill - you can agree or disagree but there were reasons for their vote.

I'm not partisan - I don't like politicians in general and I think what really happens is that they manipulate us to hate those of the opposing party (they both do this) because their worst fear would be if we actually united and demanded greater accountability. That would take away their power.
