I love nature, so to me, the magnificence of America is the Grand Canyon, the Redwood Forest, Yosemite, the Rocky Mountains, the Appalachians, the Berkshires, the Everglades, the many waterfalls, the Painted Desert, etc. I love hiking, rafting, and star gazing out in the American wilderness.

I used to love visiting cities too - NYC, Charleston, San Francisco, Austin and Seattle - but now (except for Charleston) they are places I'd avoid like the plague. It's sad, because I love Broadway shows, Chinatown, museums, etc., but thanks to ridiculous policies they have become much more unpleasant.

Portland is lamenting the lack of tourism, but here's the thing - tourists are not partial to high crime, homeless encampments and needles and feces on the streets. With the sanitation workers and first responders leaving in droves... the voters keep voting in the people who are responsible for these declines, so don't expect change.
