I really enjoyed reading this article. But I am sad about Zoe. I can see how it's easy to get attached to these birds. A friend of mine who had a few chickens in her back yard would call to them, and they would run to her. She could gently pick them up and stroke their feathers. She trained her dogs to help protect them.
