I tend to be a pacifist, so I get the dilemma.

The problem is that whenever we get involved, we seem to make things worse.

The Shah of Iran who was deposed was not a good guy BUT part of the problem was that he was supported, I believe, by the CIA. I could be wrong, so feel free to correct me.

I think this has been going on for centuries - the British and other European countries playing the game of imperialism. Then the US decided to play too, but it's left the Middle East in a mess. I don't think our involvement is helpful in Ukraine either.

The United Nations is supposed to help broker peace but it doesn't seem to do a great job either.

What could we do instead? I wish I had a good answer.
