I used to live in Indiana and visited Wolf Park. It was amazing to see the wolves up close and observe their behaviors. They were actually quite friendly to visitors… but they were not pets. They lived in a pack and people who wanted to meet them had to do it on their terms.

People who want to adopt a wolf are crazy, like the idiots who decide they want a big cat. It’s really a type of slavery. I’m not even 100% comfortable with something like Wolf Park. I hate traditional zoos.

People watch something like Dances with Wolves or read White Fang and decide wolves would be great companions. The thing is, they are intelligent and social and loyal and all of that. But they are not domesticated.

If you want to love on wolves, help preserve their habitat so they can continue to lead free, wild lives.
