I used to live in Queens, and we had a black neighbor we were friendly with. We lived in a mostly immigrant neighborhood that had Indians, Chinese, Irish, Greek, etc., immigrants and all the kids played together and the mothers socialized while watching their kids. I used to ride my bike everywhere without incident.

So the fact that this incident happened - makes me very sad.
