I Want To Rescue All The Dogs
Especially those who are going to freeze to death this winter
I’ve seen heartbreaking ads from groups like the Humane Society and PETA recently. It’s winter, and there are dogs being left outdoors without shelter.
Sometimes it just amazes me how inhumane people are. Do they not realize their dog could freeze to death if its left out in the winter? Often the poor animals are chained or otherwise restrained so they cannot even try to find a warm place to shelter for themselves.
It’s not just dogs, either, that suffer thanks to human indifference or outright cruelty. Cats, horses, cattle… all sorts of animals suffer.
When I see a commercial asking for money to provide an outdoor dog with a warm, safe shelter — I wish I could just open my checkbook and send enough to provide a home for all of them.
Unfortunately, I have enormous medical bills these days and for the forseeable future will need to continue paying for my cancer treatments.
However, at least I can write about this issue.
If you see an animal being left outside in the cold — call the local ASPCA, Humane Society, or animal shelter. If you have an outdoor pet — bring them indoors or provide them with adequate outdoor shelter.
