if men and women actually have a proper friendship and love each other, then men can trust their wives. the real issue is that if you're an old man marrying a young woman - of course she will find younger men more attractive and will cheat.

In modern society - there are DNA tests. but also, if you don't trust someone - why have a child with them? Also, if he wants a virgin but wants to have lots of lovers before he gets married -yeah that's not hypocritical. plus a society that works like that screws it up for all the women who were tricked into having sex because the guy promised to marry them, then he goes off to marry a virgin and now no one will marry her. sorta sucks.

BTW, one intersting thing - the oldest child is more likely to look like the father. perhaps evolution or God made this happen to reassure fathers that the woman is not cheating on him?
