If my cat had been agreeable, then I think your idea would have been a good one.

My cat didn't want to be petted. She made that clear. And I NEVER force myself on anyone - whether a human child, an adult person, or a pet.

I even wrote a Medium article on that, because I have a friend whose adorable daughter HATES it when people touch her without permission. But people do that all the time to children, whcih in this case only makes her more reclusive.

I do agree with you re. both spanking and how hard it is to be a teacher.
