If you dollar cost average into the blue chip cryptos and then hold, you'll come out ahead of 90% of the traders. The really successful traders will still come out ahead, but they are just a small fraction and, like you said, some of their profits are eaten up by taxes... I think you do have to have an exit strategy and diversify - for example, take some of your profits and invest in real estate, stocks and bonds or precious metals. However, again, don't churn your portfolio. Buy and hold is a good strategy for the long term.
