I'm a traditional liberal who has been banned on this site by a few far leftists. I agree with them that racism is wrong, as is sexism.

The problem is that I am a rational person and I was trained as an engineer. Therefore, I know basic science and, well, reality.

Math is math. 2 + 2 = 4. (A valid argument can be made by theoretical physicists that this is not always the case, but these are esoteric areas that look at the boundaries of science, not where people live).

If you build a bridge based on "non white-supremist math", guess what? Your bridge won't be safe. Neither will your airplane or your car.

If you insist that quotas must be filled regardless of qualifications when it comes to things like medicine - guess what? More people will die.

I don't see how this helps anyone.

Yes, we need to stand up against racism and discrimination. But as a traditional liberal in the John Stuart Mill tradition, I believe in the rights of the individual. Even if that individual is a straight white man. I say this as a non-white woman.
